TRACY ANDERSON

New York | 2009

Located in Tribeca, the Tracy Anderson Method Studio was conceived as an extension of the home, a fitness environment that balances movement and physical activity with comfort, restoration, and a sense of well-being.

The studio brings together spaces with distinct atmospheric qualities, from areas designed for intensive exercise to quieter spaces for relaxation before and after workouts. Expansive loft windows fill the interior with natural light, while soft materials create a sense of warmth and ease within the industrial character of the space.

Inspired by the idea of kinesis, studioMDA developed an interior centered on movement. Specialized elements, including steel cubes, kick bars, a band system, and a spring-mounted dance floor, are integrated into the architecture, creating an environment where space, light, and material support an active and holistic approach to daily life.
