studioMDA in collaboration with Fox-Nahem associates has finished a complete interior renovation of a 5,200 sqft home across from Gibson Beach in the Village of Sagaponack. The interiors of the house were gutted entirely and rearranged to improve flow and circulation between the various spaces & levels within the house. The previously unfinished basement was completely renovated, including the addition of entertainment space, a wine room, sauna and yoga room. Just outside of the yoga room, a new sunken outdoor space was carved out of the ground, complete with a hot tub and garden, bringing light and air into the cellar while maintaining complete privacy. The master suite was re-built to increase ceiling height and create a grander, more functional suite with ample space for the display of the owners’ private art collection. The garage was repurposed as a “beachy” hangout space, clad with wood and custom designed to store paddle and surfboards, providing a transitional space between the exterior & interior. Finally, new finished materials were installed inside and out, including reclaimed barn wood ceilings, new stone patios & fireplaces and custom metal screened doors with intricate patterning.
