SAGAPONACK BARN

Sagaponack | 2005

Sagaponack Barn is an existing barn that studioMDA converted into a residential space.  The space was fully enclosed and was windowless, the landscape around the barn was pristine and the orientation of the barn allowed the new client to have a flawless perspective of the countryside.  By adding two floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors to the house, studioMDA was able to effectively open the interior of the house to the landscape, creating a clear relationship between the exterior and the interior.  The large sliding doors bring the landscape into the house, blurring the boundary of the home and the exterior.
