SAGAPONACK BARN HOUSE

Located in Sagaponack, this existing barn was transformed by studioMDA into a residential space while preserving its relationship to the surrounding countryside. Originally fully enclosed and without windows, the structure offered an opportunity to establish a new connection between the interior and its pristine landscape.

studioMDA introduced two floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors, opening the formerly enclosed interior to expansive views of the countryside. The large glazed openings bring natural light and the surrounding landscape into the home, creating a continuous relationship between inside and out and blurring the boundary between the architecture and its setting.
