studioMDA has designed the new Marian Goodman Gallery's main and global headquarters in the historic Grosvenor Building in New York City. The project transforms this 1875 industrial building by integrating spaces for exhibitions, research, administration, and art storage, preserving its historical identity while responding to the contemporary needs of one of the world's most influential galleries.
The design conserves and highlights the original elements, establishing a dialogue between the historic architecture and the new interventions. Opening the ground floor to Broadway strengthens the relationship between the gallery and the public space, transforming the entrance into a meeting place that extends the art experience into the city.
