INNSBRUCK OFFICE

New York | 2008

The Innsbruck Office is a mixed-use development bringing together retail, event spaces, apartments, and offices within a single architectural composition. Conceived as an iconic presence within its setting, the project acts as an interface between the large-scale sports facilities nearby and the smaller scale of the surrounding single-family homes.

The design responds directly to the dramatic Alpine landscape, establishing visual connections to the surrounding mountains while carefully considering orientation and environmental performance. Extended roof planes, angled surfaces, and cantilevers are integrated as architectural elements that provide natural shading, support climate control, and create opportunities for passive solar gain.

The project is conceived as a dialogue between the changing character of the surrounding natural landscape and the clarity and precision of human rationality, allowing environmental considerations, geometry, and context to collectively shape the architecture.
