IMPASSE RONSIN
PAUL KASMIN GALLERY
New York | 2016
Impasse Ronsin was an exhibition designed by StudioMDA presented by Paul Kasmin Gallery from October 2016 through January 2017.
Impasse Ronsin celebrated the storied Parisian alley that once housed the studios of renowned twentieth-century artists Constantin Brancusi, William N. Copley, Max Ernst, Yves Klein, Les Lalanne, Larry Rivers, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Jean Tinguely, among others. The exhibition’s instillation plan was inspired by a map of the impasse, superimposing artworks for studios with the gallery to create the fabled alleyway. “Collaboration and perpetual dialogue defined the Impasse Ronsin,” Kasmin wrote of the exhibition—the conceptual design enlivens this dialogue.
