The Holmenkollen Crystal was conceived as an architectural expression of the speed, fluidity, and precision of ski jumping. Drawing from the linear movement and aerodynamic character of the sport, the proposal reimagined the traditional separation between ski jump and arena as a single continuous structure.

Folding exterior walls converge around the jump, designed to provide protection from the wind while simultaneously embracing the spectator arena. The gesture unifies athlete and audience, start house and bowl, transforming the distinct elements of the program into one fluid architectural sequence.

Rising toward the point of departure, the structure follows the trajectory and anticipation of the jump itself. Its aerodynamic form translates the mechanics and exhilaration of ski jumping into architecture, creating a dynamic relationship between movement, structure, athlete, and spectator.
