Anchorage Residence is an 8,000-square-foot summer home in Anchorage, Alaska, designed to accommodate several generations of a prominent Alaskan family. Located at Atwood Estates, the residence is composed of vertical stone walls, horizontal metal-clad roof planes, and wood-clad volumes that slide past one another to establish a series of spatial axes.

A central axis extends through the house from the road, passing through the main living space and family terrace before opening toward a distant view of Denali. Secondary and tertiary axes organize circulation and define three distinct building volumes dedicated to utility, sleeping and retreat, and shared family life.

The multi-generational residence is organized much like a camp, with private sleeping areas separated from the central gathering spaces. This arrangement creates a balance between privacy and togetherness while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding Alaskan landscape.
