60 White, from gallerist Lio Malca, openend a new 5,000 sq ft space in New York on May 20th, 2023 with an exhibition by the Spanish painter Rafa Macarrón. The multistory space features brick walls from the building’s original construction, where the biggest 35 feet tall wall provides the opportunity to exhibit art in extraordinary ways.

“It has the beauty and the warmth of the neighborhood,” Lio Malca said in an interview with The Art Newspaper. “I like the idea of being able to transform spaces, but they have to have an energy at first that you feel you can do something very special.” Malca said that he was immediately drawn by the view of the space’s “dramatic” triple-height open space, 35ft walls, exposed brick and natural light from rear skylights.
